IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I wish to communicate to you all; information about the last few days of term before the Christmas Holidays. This has been discussed at a recent Board of Governors meeting.
It has been decided that the school will close on Friday 18th December for all children (nursery- P7). It will be a full school day as normal. The school will be closed to all pupils on Monday 21st December. Children can continue to wear their Christmas Jumpers next week also.
As you may already be aware, if your child attends school beyond Friday 11th December, they do pose a risk of having to self-isolate over the course of Christmas if they come into contact with a positive case of Covid-19. If you feel that you want to avoid this risk and keep your child at home due to individual family circumstances, that is completely understandable and will be respected. This absence will be recorded as ‘H’- fear of Covid on our attendance records. However, the school will remain open for those who want to attend, and therefore we cannot provide remote learning during this time.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support during my first few weeks here at Good Shepherd Primary & Nursery School, Derry. I hope that you all have a restful and peaceful Christmas.
The school will reopen for pupils on Tuesday 5th January 2021.
Kindest Regards,
Mrs S. McCafferty
