Dear Parent/Carer,
Following on from our previous correspondence in relation to a return to school on a full-time basis, here are the details of what our new school day will look like from Tuesday 1st September 2020. *Please note this may be subject to change depending on Departmental guidance.
When your child returns to Good Shepherd, new routines will be in place to help your child learn and follow COVID-19 protocols around the school. As always, the health & safety of our entire school community has informed our decision-making and planning.
Following advice from the NI Executive and Department of Education, we will be returning to school in full classes with protective “bubbles” for each class, to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid 19. Classes will have staggered breaks and lunchtimes, and hygiene procedures (regular hand-washing & sanitising) will be carefully followed. We have attached information for our new school day which will come into operation from Tuesday 1st September until further notice. It is important that the children use the allocated entrance and exit points outlined in the attached document.
Should your child display symptoms of Covid-19 whilst in school, parents will be contacted immediately. Your child will be supervised in a designated isolation room until you arrive to take them home.
Parents of children with a Statement of Educational Needs/medical needs, who wish to address any concerns, should contact the school in order to provide the necessary information.
Please note that there will be no after school clubs, class assemblies, swimming, choir/orchestra or educational visits until we receive further guidance on these activities.
